Wildwood Ecoforest Field Trip Etiquette

Dear Educators,

We are excited to welcome you to Wildwood Ecoforest on the territory of the Stz’uminus, Snuneymuxw and Snaw-naw-as peoples. Wildwood is carefully managed to protect the health of the forest ecosystem. Here are some ways you can help take care of Wildwood during your visit:

  • Please stay on designated trails

  • Do not pick or collect any plant material unless directed by program leaders to do so

  • Please leave sticks, logs, and other natural materials as you find them

  • Pack out what you pack in - do not leave litter behind after your visit

  • Wildwood Ecoforest will be your outdoor classroom during your visit. School classes should continue to follow their classroom agreements about respectful behaviour during their visit.

  • The tools are for instructor use only unless directed by the instructor. If you are invited to use a tool, please follow the instructor’s directions carefully.

  • Campfire rules: Always walk when near the fire (no running, no jumping over the fire); do not touch the fire or the rocks near the fire ring; no sticks in the fire; do not add wood to the fire unless asked to do so by the instructor
